The province of Apayao is also called "Cordillera's Last Nature Frontier " because people still maintain their peaceful coexistence with the natural environment. The province is almost equally mountainous/ hilly (upper Apayao) and flat (lower Apayao) with intermittent patches of valleys and plateaus. The municipalities of Calanasan, Conner and Kabugao are in upper Apayao while the municipalities of Flora, Luna, Pudtol and Sta. Marcela are located in lower Apayao.
With the province's beautiful and untapped resources. Apayao boast of a lot of natural as well as man-made places of interests. Apayao also boast about it's collection of waterfalls which is good for sight-seeing and photography. They vary in height and are found along the rivers. Among them are the following:
Purag Falls
Purag rivers is an emerging tourist destination located in Apayao's fruit capital, the humble town of Conner. Families would often be seen feasting on a sumptuous spread of igat (eel) and wild duck dishes at the rocks by the riverbank.

Buguit Falls
Buguit falls is located at Guina-ang, Conner. It has clear and cool water ideal for bathing and swimming.

Bayugan Falls
For refreshing dip in the cool water of Apayao, a great scenic spot would be the Apayao falls. It's 4 kilometers away from poblacion and has 3-deck natural pools rising about 12 meters from each other.

Gololan Falls
Is located at Kabugao. The visitors would have to trek downhill for nearly an hour through a lust forest. The roaring water can be heard mid-trek.

Manacota Cave and Underground River
Is a natural place in the town of Luna Apayao, where the river exits in underground cavern. Many tourist and local travelers is unaware that the whole province of apayao is one of the lost promising tourist destination with it's natural attractions that never found in any part of the country.

The Lussok Crystal Cave is located in Luna, Apayao. It is a perfect example of the beauty of the natural wonders of the country with it's three room cave that holds various stalagmite formations, it's a must see for anyone visiting Apayao.

Allabang Cave
Allabang Cave is located in Luna, Apayao. It's a great place for spelunkers, as the Allabag cave is filled with huge quantities of guano.

Nalvo Cave
Located in Luna, Apayao. Luna is one of the best places for cave hopping, as Nalvo cave is just one of the seven caves that surround the municipality.

Nagan River
Was recognized as the region's cleanest body of water for 3 consecutive years. Starting in 1998. It flows to the town of Lydia in Lower Maton. Locals can often be seen bathing, rafting and doing their laundry by the cool river, where various species of fish such as eel, tilapia and carp also thrive.

Apayao River
The Apayao River flows from an extensive watershed in the western slope of the province, flows past the town of Kabugao and runs into the Pacific Ocean at the Coastal town of Abulug. The river is picturesque through much of it's length, and features a number of waterfalls and other features as it runs through the centre of the province.

Mt. Solo
Mt. Solo is located in Upper Maton, Pudtol. There are three ways going there. First, through the Apayao at barangay Lt. Balag. Second, through the Apayao at Kabugao and third, through a trail at barangay Upper Maton, Pudtol, Apayao.

Mt. Kilang is recognized as one of the highest point in Upper Apayao. It's striking silhouette, enveloped by a sea of clouds that could rival that of Mt. Pulag's, cab be sighted from the boundary of the province and Ilocos Norte.

The most viral spot in Apayao. The Dupag Rock Formation is a sprawling maze-like cluster of sharp limestone rocks in Marag Valley, Luna. The most challenging trail takes about three to four hours. Crawling, climbing, squeezing in sideways- your life hangs on the edge when you dare to try this.
